eThe shot I was thinking off for Bird Bath turned out to be a fountain instead so here's just a bird bathing P1080023 by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr

Went out to Conwy to photograph some yachts but got the time of low tide wrong so they were all facing the wrong way (upriver with the tide still ebbing) As far as I can see the boats are all moored fore & aft between posts or along pontoons, so will face the same way pretty much whatever the tide or wind are doing.

Many moons ago our then next door neighbour had a bird bath in the shape of a stone or concrete trough with a large stone eagle, you would have thought that the eagle would be off putting to small birds this was not so. Under My Wing by Keith Hudson, on Flickr

Probably this will be my only one today. I can't recall having a photo of a bird having a bath, so as none of them seem to want to pose for me this morning, here is one I've just done instead. Bird Bath by Nigel G, on Flickr

Bird Bath by Nigel G, on Flickr That will do nicely, to be honest I only have the one posted earlier. The theme is another one of Mikes so I am looking forward to seeing what he posts for today.

I know it is over a week away but I am starting to compile a list for next month. I have around half a months worth so far. Any ideas/requests, send them my way on PM.

Rain fills the bird bath (I wish!)
Save water, bath with a friend
Where's the water gone?

That's a scene I well remember from when I was younger. We had a birdbath in the garden and lots of starlings; it's amazing how fast they can empty a decent size bath when they get going - even if they did spend more time squabbling than bathing...

The best bath for the birds at the old place, was a rubber dustbin lid (as above) I was forever filling it. I even had a water rail and Mallards visiting.

I can visualise a fair few more but won't find them as I didn't keyword them with anything relevant.

Cheeky lateral thinking - this is just a big bird bath, no?
