Trying to get to the popular Kyoto coffee shop in the morning before the crowds. (Failed) View AttachmentEdit to add, it was worth the wait though, really good coffee. And you are a man to get up early too! Popular places. I'm up at 6am every day at home, but on hols we rarely leave the hotel before 9.30am.

The hall stool. I'm sure Nige's wife would do a great (better) job on it, but it has lasted about 50 years, so it will see me out. Ha! ap stool top by Kate Ferris, on Flickr

Stool pigeon, lol. This is going on a trip today. It has been with my mum for over a week. The pigeons owner from Aldershot has asked my mum to put it in a box, take it miles away from her house and let it go. It obviously needs a system reboot to get it to fly back. Luckily, we are taking my mum out for a day trip today, so we are taking it with us! IMG_5829 by Nigel G, on Flickr

Used to be the bane of my life in the old house garden. PS Clever mum finding out the owner.

Thieving 'stool' pigeon. It used to annoy my hubby that I called them pigeons. He insisted they were rock doves. All I know is they were noisy messy birds upsetting the smaller one. Mind you, the sparrowhawk got the occasional one, so I guess they had a function. For hubby, who would have been 80 years old today. pigeon and sparrow by Kate Ferris, on Flickr

A quick call to the royal pigeon racing association and they gave her the owners number. As it turns out it is still there but is refusing to come down so we never got it in the carrier today.

Couldn't find a "Stool" but spotted a "Spool" stuck in the mud of the Dee at low tide. Muddy Spool. Plus an old tyre and a bored herring gull (on the other bank) DSCF3291.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
