Thank you again. I'll do my best. I do try to take new ones, but my old ones are usually better.

Thank you again. I'll do my best. I do try to take new ones, but my old ones are usually better. You are both welcome. I too have great difficulty getting inspired when taking pictures to order for the themes. I like to go out and take pictures of things that I find interesting on the day, yes I get inspired and will go to a local area with lighting direction or time of day in mind but how landscape photographers plan things to the n'th degree I have no idea, far too much like work.

Hawthorn or May Hawthorn, used in herbal medicine, is said to protect houses from being struck by lightning. It was long regarded as a protection against the evil spirits believed to roam the Earth, especially on the eve of great festivals such as May Day. In the 17th century the English essayist Francis Bacon noted the general belief that the plague could be detected by 'the smell of a mellow apple and (as some say) of May flowers'. This may explain the superstition that hawthorn flowers, or May blossom, invite bad luck if taken inside the house. It even seems reluctant to be photographed! Took me quite a while to get the exposure right. ap mayday hawthorn blossom 2 by Kate Ferris, on Flickr

A rescue of sorts, the constabulary put this guy in the wagon because he was cheering for the winning team and the losing team fans (losers, themselves) were not pleased Cheers, Jack

We were lucky to see the mountain rescue dog training one year when we stayed in Kühtai. One Man and His Dog by Keith Hudson, on Flickr Mountain Rescue training. IMG_3903 by Keith Hudson, on Flickr We were not close enough or it was snowing too much to take photographs as the dogs and handlers winched down from helicopters but we did see the dogs finding people buried in deep snow. Like the RNLI something that is good to know exists, fascinating to watch and you really hope that you will never need them or see more of them than in an exercise.

A bit of fun for the last shot before we go out. No rescue required, don't panic. 2020-08-18-0054editBW by Keith Hudson, on Flickr Photo of me taken by Steph, back in 1995 as a non swimmer enjoying floating in an old cork life vest / life preserver during our honeymoon off the Turkish coast.
