A couple of lamb chops with roasted veg. I really must get a ventilator fan for the kitchen as I was smoked out.

At a friend's house. A chicken casserole with celery, cream and other flavours. Delicious and from a very old cookbook called "How to cheat at cooking" by Delia Smith.

At a friend's house. A chicken casserole with celery, cream and other flavours. Delicious and from a very old cookbook called "How to cheat at cooking" by Delia Smith. Mick We have several old cookbooks from the 70's, where a chicken casserole is basically chicken with a sauce made with a tin of Campbells soup and maybe a tinned carrot. We were looking at some the other day, contemplating following one as it is written but decided against it. I do believe that we have that Delia book.

We had chicken caesar salad last night. I noticed that I ballsed up when I went shopping. I was going to get a whole chicken from Tesco and saw that they were around £4. On a nearby shelf I saw an organic corn fed chicken and I saw that it was only £6.50, which quite surprised me, so bought that instead, albeit it was a bit smaller. As I took it out of the wrapping last night, I saw that the £6.50 was in fact the price per KG. The bloody thing cost me nearly £12!
At least there is enough for a dinner tonight of either chicken risotto or chicken and mushroom pie. That is my wife's choice for today though as I am off out to work for the day.
Perhaps that should go in the tip top tip thread. Read the bloody label!

I didn't want a big dinner, so just grilled a couple of soss and bacon rashers in a bun.

with a sauce made with a tin of Campbells soup
When I can find it I still use a tin of Campbells condensed cream of chicken soup for making a chicken pie or chicken a la king or as a sauce for pasta it's very versatile to be honest I don't think I've ever actually had it as a soup!
