Oooh, interesting! I'll measure up anyway - let me know what turns out to be in it, and if yours needs an adapter maybe Fen can do one for each of us? (hopes Fen can be bribed with fermented barley pop).
Can't quite work out whether it needs one or two adapters...

This is why it might need two: Top pic - Rajar cone, note the gurt 'oles to fit their special spools.
And a rather more conventional spool from the Coronet Varsity I picked up at the same time: Attachment Deleted

At least two.
Being a cricketer, you are bound to drop one.

Well, very disappointingly I've more added to the problem than been any part of the solution. Which I suppose at least maintains the habits of a lifetime...
No film, no spools. Bugger.

It is a pretty thing, isn't it? The looks probably helped a lot in the premium camera market.

I've not shot a film yet - only picked them up 20 minutes ago, after sunset! - but I've wound my test film through (remember when film was cheap enough you could sacrifice a roll to show people how roll film worked? Those were the days!), and it runs through with no problems whatsoever. Top work, Fen, thank you!
If you are going to start a production line (for Nick's benefit) the bar piece could be a mm wider at each end, and a mm thicker for a snugger fit, but you can blame my crappy measuring for that.
I'm really quite chuffed with them, another old warhorse will rear at the sound of the trumpet!

Excellent. I'll make the adjustment and re-upload the model. Glad to have been able to help

Well I can't say that the plot thickens - but I clearly do. Another £3.29 spent on not finding the solution... 2023-03-30_02-13-40 by Nick Roberts, on Flickr There IS a spool with an adapter (home made), but the adapter is simply for retaining the original film spool, it won't engage with the winding key. However, there is a bag, and also a directory of Rajar No 6 film retailers, which is very nice.
