I have never understood the concept behind phones not being real cameras. The are fantastic cameras and I was astounded by the first iPhone images that I saw. The phone has far more features and when you consider that people used to take pictures with a box camera and now people are using phone with better memory and mega pixel than my everyday camera. Or come to think of it than my DSLR 🤔 so I’m pleased to see this thread on here as phones are proper cameras and probably more images are captured via phones than by cameras each and every day

Even when not used for speech, the screens are very bright and intrusive. I would only allow people into such venues after their mobile has been extracted from them and stored for collection when they leave, but the poor dears would probably suffer withdrawal symptoms long before the end of the film or play.

Heathen instamatic user! As bad as the youth of today. Not at all, I had to make the dubious decisions pushing PS sliders myself.

Chester using their phone stops them from rustling sweet or crisp packets or otherwise annoying you I really dislike going to the cinema because of people eating and drinking, but I probably have misophonia which doesn't help. If I use a cinema it is a local independent and not a big multiplex and the eating doesn't really seem to be an issue. I have only been disturbed by a phone once in the cinema when a woman who was sat behind me, phone went off with the call to prayer. My look to her didn't need to be followed up by any words! I personally would ban sweets in packets and popcorn if I ran a cinema.

There is more profit out of the sweets 🍬 etc and they need the profit to enable to pay the rent rates and wages.
