I reckon this new 'film' malarkey might just be the Next Big Thing.
Film is going back to being a rich man/woman's preserve then? Interesting point. The cost of reasonably decent film equipment is low compared with most new digital equipment but the cost of film and processing is frightening and is getting worse. The cost of old digital equipment can be very reasonable and the quality can be very good. Personally I would go with digital but that is just me.

If you stick to monochrome, there is a one time cost for a changing bag, bulk loader, developing tank and other bits. Chemicals and bulk film are not particularly expensive, and negatives can be digitised with a digital camera, if you don't have a scanner.

Do they (AP) have other ways of communicating with their readers, Face Book, Twitter, TickTock, Masterthing? It would seem odd for them not to. Yes, as any read of AP magazine will show. Given the cost of magazines these days for some the cost of buying a magazine would easily cover the cost of a meal at home for two.

Having scanned the meagre responses on the Facebook Amateur Photographer page - they are mostly getting a kicking.

I've just changed jobs, for a marked increase in salary (that reflects where I should be with my level of expertise, as opposed to being an ongoing casualty of austerity), and at the mo am in the "I can finally afford that!" stage...

Good place to be but it can result in ever increasing expenses. The occasional copy of AP shouldn’t hurt.

New bathroom next... Held up by running out of redundancy settlement!
I subscribe, so it costs less per issue.
