You have reminded me that when we were married, the registrar asked Michael for his occupation and happily wrote down 'Managing Director Engineering Company'. Then I was asked. Apparently, 'Technical Publisher' wasn't on the approved list of occupations and so it says I'm a secretary instead. As mentioned on my photo above of my wedding, it was very quick after my dad's death. On the day of the wedding, we went to sign the register. My dads name and occupation was written prior to the wedding, quite clearly, as it was just crossed through and "Deceased" written over it. A really nice touch and such a thoughtful thing to do! That's horrendous.

Ah. Before I was married, my maiden name was Clements-Jewery. My dad was Dr (phd type not medical type) Keith Charles Clements-Jewery, and one day we found a letter on the mat addressed to Dr Keith Charles Cletients-Energy. It instantly became a family tradition to replace Clements, wherever we found it, with Cletients. These are St Clements cakes - orange and lemon zest in a sponge cake with orange and lemon glacé icing and a handful of leftover candied peel mixed in. This is basically me using up allt he leftover ingredients from my Christmas baking to make space in the cupboard. (ETA - all recipes from an ancient copy of Mary Berry's Fast Cakes.)

(ETA - all recipes from an ancient copy of Mary Berry's Fast Cakes.) One of the best baking books around, if not the best. Even I couldn't fail to make edible scones using her recipe. Even though my fruit ones have all the fruit at the bottom.
