Some of the dogs I walk are good at finding balls when out on walks so yesterday I dumped a carrier bag full of acquired balls on a popular route and they were all gone by the time I got there this morning. Back in circulation and lots of happy dogs.

She and her sister are fighting over the best way to make enchiladas and I'm staying well out of it. Someone else will do the dishes too. Can't beat that.

There's some corners in the river that are good for recovering balls from although the mad spaniel has worked out if she picks up a plastic bottle she only gets to carry it as far as the bin.

So glad I didn't nip down to Argos and get a new HD TV. Just had someone round who pointed out the switch on the back of my current one that just needs selecting! Did I feel stupid! On FRiday I'll have the Manhattan HD box to go with it.

www.nature.scot/doc/peatland-action-technical-compendiumA blueprint for how to fix large chunks of Scotland has been published. It never fails to amaze me how we appear to think perpetuating peatbogs is a desirable state.Removing forests created the peat bogs. Is it not desirable to clear the peat and restore the forests? That makes sense to me, rather than striving to maintain the boggy landscape.

Other news stories seem to suggest landowners can get a premium for selling land for rewilding as it has little value otherwise.

Not that many Tory voters in the peat bogs. Unfortunately there are and 60% of them voted for Brexit.

SWMBO is highly amused that her car has failed its MOT with a broken headlamp leveling device. That's been broken for at least 18 of the 23 years she's had the thing! Plenty of other stuff to do but we should be back to one each on Monday.

If you have trees in your bog, it's probably going to take more than Harpic and a brush to shift them.
