I've just caught up with this week's episode of 'Wild Isles' and I think I've found my spirit animal. The water shrew could die if it doesn't eat for 3 hours. I totally understand. That the one with the poisonous bite? I thought common shrews had to eat pretty much constantly too. |

Gas and electricity bill down about £200 a month. Think the reason ours went up so much in the first place was the previous supplier going bust after a period of higher usage.
I suspect the biggest savings were from taking the thermostat off the wall so the teenager couldn't turn it to 23 after a bath and then open windows before going out. And me not leaving class A amplifiers on 24/7. The air fryer also saves electricity as I don't use it and the deep fat fryer got binned.

I carry on in blissful ignorance courtesy of Scottish Gas (gas) and British Gas (electricity) not giving me any idea of how I'm doing. I'll find out in May when they will kindly inform me how much I owe. And yes, I do look online. I do submit readings. I do pay by direct debit. They appear to have decided to only invoice me twice a year (last time in November). |

Our pension payments went into our account tonight - they are paid early because of the Easter holiday. We got a nice increase - an extra $20 (10 pounds) each a week.

Frankly, hugely needed, haven't had a real break since the start of October.
Might even get a few photos taken before the cricket season takes over... this year I am touting a Retinette 1B, a Rajar No6 (thanks to Fen), a J B Ensign, a Moskva, a Super Ikonta, and the D200. I *think* that's the lot.
If you are wondering how I pack anything round that lot, it's simple. I save space by not taking any pants.

I picked up my younger daughter and her children from the airport this evening - I hadn't seen them for 4 years. They're staying at my other daughter's place for a couple of nights, and then they'll be coming to us. My grandchildren are a very active 7 year old girl, and a 12 year old boy who is as tall as me...

Cats - are cats and DJJ's cat was a comedic humanoid cat incarnate. I rather enjoyed the one going round the intertubes recently that stated that these days the BBC is so woke if they made Red Dwarf now half the cast would be black and the computer would keep changing sex. Whoever started it is either a complete genius or a grade one tit who has half the planet laughing at them, and I'm not sure which of the two I hope it is. |
