Patel is oot on her bahooki. Apparently the members (not the MPs) want Badenoch...remember when they wanted a lettuce, sorry Liz Truss and how well that ended... At the risk of being cheap, she's a better man than the rest of the list. More seriously she worries me, she is a smart right wing nut job.

Same here. She'll appeal to the blue rinse mob and the dirty old men though. Won't appeal to the elctorate though. Too schoolmarmish. l

Badenoch, or maybe Badenough? How about Bad-Enoch? If Enoch (Powell) was bad-Enough, what is a bad Enoch like π±π€―π€¬

I believe that Enoch's reputation as an intellectual (to try justify his racism - its OK he is just an intellectual rascist not an actual ****) is now recognised as as pish and that he was in fact a pish loaded* rascist B.
*The older members may remember that he made his big speeches on a full bladder because he believed this made him more focussed and passionate. So what we all suspected is true, he was literally full of pish.

They had Fierce gluten-free beer at Lidl, so my wife stocked up. RTBC is I matched her beer count with my own (non-GF) beers to ensure she does get to enjoy them.

Thanks I still don't believe it. it's interesting work, okay it's in Ealing but I don't mind that so much as it's a straight through journey I just hate having to change so 45 minutes on the tube will give me a chance to work through my "to read" pile of books and once I am trained up I'll be WFH 2-3 days a week anyway It's initially for 3 months but they told me that's just because local government does agency workers in 3-month blocks and it will actually be at least 6 months probably longer and might even go permanent . The boss reckons the training will take 6 weeks so from that I can deduce it's going to be over 3 months anyway And it's the best money I've ever earned in my life by about 25%

Ealing is the next door borough to where I used to live in Acton. It was getting a bit posh by the time I moved.

I remember part of Acton well, Grand parents had an off licence at 333 Horn lane corner of Noel Road, - now an Indian takeaway; aunt, uncle and cousins on Alan Way - off Western Avenue.

My wife used to live on Valetta Road in Acton. She used to say she lived in Chiswick!
