Youngest has not let the grass grow under her feet - two days after being told the business was closing she's updated her CV and secured a trial shift at one establishment, and has an interview on Monday for another. Here's hoping.

Here's hoping. Trust she's getting paid for the trial shift. A lot of places try to skirt the law and offer them unpaid.

No oscopies for me today. Pulse measured (by hand - they thought the machine was faulty) at 40! There's a risk so they call the procedures off, and start to organise a CT scan as an alternative. I also had an ECG which no doubt was reported to cardiology. CT arranged for Monday morning. No doubt cardiology will be watching with interest. So a sleepless night for nothing!

I'm assuming bradycardia rather than elite sports level cardiac fitness? Surprised you were so relaxed!

I can understand your concern about the delay but quite frankly I would prefer CT than that tube thrust through my innards. If you are concerned that the CT (fancy X rays) is not up to the task then ask about MRI. It's slightly more expensive but shows great detail in soft tissue. I was worried about MRI for a different issue because I have metallic stents; there was no problem. The NHS has lots of MRI scanners on lease. If you want an MRI then insist. Then there is PET. I have no idea if it is relevant to potential bowel cancer but if it is then insist. Of course be super polite but leave no doubt that should you not get the right diagnostic treatment then you will become an embarrassment to them.
I have never ever been offensive to a member of NHS staff. I have done my own google research on issues since I ignorantly turned up at A and E with a heart attack. In my limited experience, if they see someone polite and well 'genned up' then they are brilliant.

And finally remembered to feed the sound through the Hifi during the fifth.

I'm hoping it was because of the sleepless night and lack of food for 19 hours, however one of the nurses looked at my records and explained that given all that's happened with my ticker it's no surprise. As I say I await the results of Monday's scan, and to see if cardiology chase me up.

They're looking for a reason for my anaemia, I don't display any other symptoms that might indicate cancer. The anaemia seemed to start after I had Covid, but whether it's symptomatic of long Covid I don't know but wouldn't be surprised.

There's Otters on the river down the meadow and beavers have been seen 3 miles away.

Martin sets 'em up, and you knock 'em out of the park, Adrian.
