I'm shocked. There's quite a clue in the name. Midlands - the middle of the country. West - a bit west of the middle.
Then I assume that you could point to Birmingham. Some would say the heart of the West Midlands.
Mick
Not with any degree of accuracy nor have I any idea why you imagine I might want to. It can be confusing, you would look down the map and go a bit right, I would look up the map and go a bit left.

She was in it at the time? With the amount of titanium in her body she was worth more in scrap than the car.

Not with any degree of accuracy nor have I any idea why you imagine I might want to. As we were talking about the English Mayoral elections, it never occurred to me that I needed to specify that I was talking about England specifically. If I've misled anyone, then I apologize. That's a response not only to you, but to others who have been kind enough to point out my lack of precision.

Oh the irony. Scots who wish to become independent of England become indignant when you don't include them when deciding where the Midlands are.

This issue about the West Midlands prompted some other thoughts. Thinking of England (see I've learned my lesson) one often refers to the North West or North East (as economic regions) . One might think that's Cumbria and Northumberland, but no - it's Liverpool/Manchester and Tyne and Wear. But why would anyone want to know that! (Sorry in advance !) Mick

I now have that Tamron 90mm! Alongside two Centon DF300 bodies (one probably broken), a Fujifilm compact, a Nikon Finepix 775 which fits nicely with the article on the latest AP on "2000 digital", and an Olympus compact which still has a film in. There are also all manner of associated bits including two Centon 28-70mm lenses and a set of PK mount extension tubes with electrical contacts.
Should be fun sorting that lot out, if I ever get time...

A beautiful evening, SWMBO put the deckchairs out on the postage stamp and we sat in the evening sun with a cuppa each and read and watched the swifts wheeling above us.
Now if the spadgers would just decide they really are fledged, and move out, I could put the roboswifts up and start luring them in.

Off to do the handover for my new job (well the rest of this week and next) the place is lovely, (the hospital chapel is amazing I must try and get some photos), it turned out to be a bit of a walk mainly because changing lines at Baker Street involves walking the length of the station. Everyone seems very nice, the job isn't too difficult, most of it is clearing a backlog. I have a very nice office to myself with air con and a good view (even saw a fox trotting past the window) and I can do Teams interviews in my lunch break (it's only until the 17th so I have to think about what happens the following week but I already have an interview tomorrow)
Then had a pleasant afternoon enjoying a few beers in the beer garden of my local Wetherspoons on the way home
It was just a nice day for a change
