Got my car back from Service/MoT and some suspension work plus new tyres. After 200k some of the suspension arm were worn and sloppy. It wasn't cheap (but a huge amount less than a new car) and the old thing now drives like new. I'm well pleased.

I can now add Alaska, Canada, and Greenland to the list of places I've flown over. From Tokyo toward Bering strait then across. Passed over Iceland and Faroes but couldn't see anything. Even the captain called it an "interesting" route.

Just got myself some new glasses, and they're way better than anything I could have got from Specsavers. There's the set of tall 38cl glasses for leisurely pre-dinner G&Ts, and the short fat 24cl whisky glasses for a whisky and soda nightcap. I shall christen them tonight - er... not all of them, just one of each! I do like nice cut crystal, and the attrition of the ones I bought around fifty years ago has been rather high.

Just bought, but not yet used, a couple of double wall insulated stainless steel highball glasses. Should help keep the ice icy for longer than a regular glass would. That's obviously a big problem up here, keeping ice icy.

My one justification out here in sunny Cyprus for putting ice in a whisky and soda is to try to get even close to the temperature of the Laird's castle!

The extraction went well (WGMG thread) and this morning, by some sort of miracle, I am pain free. Hope that's not tempting fate!!! I’m aware that complications can take a while to appear.
