I seem to remember that an earthquake in NZ wrecked the factory producing Marmite in 2011, resulting in questions being asked in Parliament about when this traumatic situation was going to be resolved. I love the stuff and buy the large 500g plastic tubs of it that COSTCO sell. Bovril's ok as a hot drink though.

My closest Auntie used to try to persuade me Bovril was very similar but I was never convinced. |

A jar of real marmite lasts ages round here anyway as I'm the only one who ever eats it. Even the cat isn't impressed which surprised me as most of our previous cats have enjoyed the occasional scrambled egg with marmite as a treat. Same in our house. Caro has Marmite and the dogs won't even consider it. I have Bovril on toast and the dogs follow me around the house to have a bit of it! |

Just found that we are out of Marmite (and also out of the Sainsbury’s copy). Disaster.

I am currently in Respite care and I asked the carers for some jam on toast and some marmalade
on toast. I got exactly that two slices of toast with jam and marmalade on. It actually tasted okay The other thing that happened to that toast was the slices of bread left whole and not cut. I just put them together and made a big sandwich, jam, and marmalade combined on each slice.🤣
ooops marmalade should read marmite 👍😃
