Our (t)rusty(?) old slow cooker is getting antsi. It is now drying out stuff which up to a few weeks ago it never did. Also the inner glaze is starting to look tatty and frankly a bit manky - probably as a result of the presumed hot running. Anyone got any experience of one of the multi function jobbies that includes a slow cooker function?

Anyone got any experience of one of the multi function jobbies that includes a slow cooker function? No, but I'm keen to hear other people's experiences too. I am hoping to replace our very ancient slow cooker and the very basic air fryer we were given with something that will do both jobs in the next couple of months. I'll be donating ours to our daughter because they work but she has more room in her kitchen than I do for two appliances. I'm trying to max our space.

Although not technically a slow cooker, but you can do slow cooker recipes in it at a fraction of the time, I did some beef short ribs with potatoes and veg in my Ninja 11 in 1. Turned out nice, but I could improve on it with practice. I picked up a Moroccan spiced lamb Henry joint the other day which I intend to cook in the 11 in 1 with maybe some spiced rice and Mediterranean veg. I'll report back.

willien , Kath change of plan. I've found the slow cooker setting on the Ninja, so in the name of research just for you chaps I've put on a bog standard beef joint with attendant veggies, in the same way I would have done in the crock pot.

We have a Tefal sphericooker the name of which is helpfully not marked on it. Not technically a slow cooker, we bought it for cooking rice, but it can do all sorts. You can set the temperature and timer to effectively be a slow cooker, but I haven't experimented enough to say how good it is. Seems alright but would need to do a couple more 'roasts' before giving a full endorsement.

Well the Ninja 11 in 1 works brilliantly as a slow cooker. Okay it's not particularly cheap, but like all Ninja products it's solidly built and I've roasted a large chicken (supermarket sizing) in it, so it has a family sized capacity.

"I should imagine Lesley's halogen oven would heat just as quickly"
One of the best things is not having to preheat it. When I used my big oven anything had to have it warm up for 10 minutes at least before it even went in
