Sudden thought - do chip shops in Engerland do deep fried Pizzas or is it just a Caledonian aberration? Never seen anything like that down here, but I guess it could be sold in some places.

Experiment in play! I fancied some real village bread, but last time I tried it just didn't rise enough in the 90 minutes 'Dough' setting on the bread maker, so when baked in the counter-top convection oven, aka air fryer (hereinafter 'the thingy')it was too stodgy. I have now set the thingy to a steady 30-35°C and when the dough come out of the bread maker I shall shape it and set it in the thingy to continue proving before I whack the dial up to 220°C to bake.

Has anyone tried Rotisserie Air Fryer. The idea of using a cylindrical rotating basket seems quite attractive. I might be tempted

Not an air fryer, but when I went to my cousin's memorial, her husband and daughter cooked rice for goodness knows how may people using a 'multi cooker'. Looking at it, the thing seemed to claim to be a rice cooker/slow cooker/pressure cooker. It seems there are options for 3-in-1, 9-1 and even 15-1 versions of these devices which makes me wonder how good they can possibly be at 15 different things. Also, as I have a very small kitchen, if I were to purchase such a device I'd want something that could replace the microwave, slow cooker and air fryer. Not sure I've seen one that fits that particular bill!

I've just bought a Ninja 11 in 1. Primarily a pressure cooker, steamer, and air fryer, but it can use a combination of modes to produce succulent on the inside/crispy on the outside roasts etc. You can also use it to produce stews and soups or even bake a cake. Early days yet and I'm still learning how to use it, but it seems pretty good. I cooked a large chicken in it the other day.

I’ve just joined the airfryer club. Saw one of the 2 drawer ones in Costco this morning. Chips for tea then, lol

There's another one on their that I'm considering...after we've paid to fix the car and sorted the leaky windows out obviously... the Instant pot Duo Crisp thing. I already own a slow cooker and a very basic air fryer but don't have room to keep both out on the counter at once and putting the slowcooker away means no access to the crockery behind it. I could definitely use one that did both things! Don't think I can justify it as a business expense unless someone starts asking for air fryer videos (would be a bit boring to watch I think!)!

Harrumph! All this stuff just to persuade us how far we have come from dropping hot stones into a clay pot, and that was just to remind us about the open fire and pointy stick technology. Thus speaks a man who has just about every kitchen labour-saving device known to man or woman, except a scullery maid - and that's only because Amazon don't sell them.

Yes, the Sur la Table. My daughter hasn't much room in her kitchen so I got her the Gourmia one from Costco today too. That is slightly smaller and just a single basket. We already have a slow cooker, had a pressure cooker once and used it once, so I decided against getting a million in one type of thing. I think the downside of a 2 drawer one, I couldn't get a whole chicken in one. I could roast a joint of beef in one drawer though. I dare say it'll take some getting used to as others have said. I have just tested it by making a cheese toastie. It was very good.

My middle child went through a short phase of purchasing us kitchen gadgets for Christmas gifts until I told her to stop because I don't have room for them, so we also have a stupid George Foreman grill that's only big enough to do one toastie at a time. I mean it works fine and the toasties are great but it all sort of squidges around and drips cheese everywhere. I like the idea of doing it in an airfryer and containing the mess. And also getting rid of yet another appliance that we'd no longer need.

When I say kitchen for my daughter, it is more like a cupboard. If she opens the oven door or fridge door, it only just clears the opposite wall. very little work top space what with the sink, lol. I think it'll end up on the table in her lounge. It should come in useful for her though. She doesn't have a microwave, so she uses an oven to cook veggies and baked spuds etc. Should save her money. Her grandma bought it for her too, so she hasn't had to splash out on it. Having said that hers was only £48 inc VAT at Costco.

Friends of ours from down South [ they've since joined us on the Isle of Skye ] recommended them to us , previously I'd never heard of them - we're on our second one and I must say it's one of the best modern gadgets I've ever bought , better than a microwave in my opinion . I've cooked chips , tandoori chicken , salmon fillets , sausages , burgers , roast peppers etc etc - anything you can cook in a conventional oven basically - I cook those pre-baked rolls / baguettes in the Air Fryer wrapping them up in foil first - my wife cooked a whole chicken in it once just to see if it would work , it did .
I'd have two in the kitchen , in fact I'm considering it .
