Or just sniggers when they say you'll feel a small prick. My GP 40 years ago was a wee Scotsman of diminutive stature (about 5'3"), but he never gave me any injections

On the misuse of words. Having had the latest Covid jab yesterday (and the Flu one last week), I am struggling to remember just when NHS political correctness dictated that health professionals were required to warn "you'll feel a little scratch", because it doesn't feel like a scratch at all. I've taken our practice nurse to task on this on several occasions. She always says "sharp scratch" as she's about to insert an hypodermic needle. We were saying that 30 years or more ago.
If I was feeling a bit naughty, it was "This is going to hurt".
S
ps I always ask why the nurse or dr says that, just to be irritating.

Pubs and restaurants that serve "home cooked food". Why? The pub is usually someone's home. Mick

Customer: can I get?
Assistant: it's my job to get.

McDonalds Restaurant ! - Don't even get me started on the comparisons between this so called restaurant and one that sells real food. A restaurant is simply a place where food is cooked and eaten on the premises. Nowhere in the definition does it elude to the quality, or lack of, of the food served. So called food that refuses to decay over time can't be food
