There is a reason I drive a large estate car and it is not an excess of photographic equipment.

Anoher vote for the X100. People will potentially think it's a useless old film camera and leave you be. At least, that has been my experience.
I'd say that true, Kath..... most of the time. I've had my x100 since 2011, and during that time I've found - on several occasions - that the idea of it being "only an old film camera" sometimes sparks a conversation with people who are sufficiently interested. You can't win, really. Well yes, I've had some of that too. In fact while we were at Duxford earlier this year a woman was sitting waiting for her husband to come out of the loo and she had the latest iteration in her hand. I said 'Nice camera' and she agreed and said it was her husband's. The man working his shift in the gift shop said it was nice to see someone still using film and we both laughed at the same time. He then came to talk to us for about ten minutes about his film days. He was lovely by the way, but another one fooled by the retro look of the thing. I took mine to a gig back in May in Liverpool. Whilst waiting for the start, I was getting the settings right. Just having the camera out was a conversation starter with a bloke stood next to me who was really into his photography and we got chatting about the camera. Turned out we actually only lived 4 or so miles from each other too.

Kath , I read your reply, and then went to give it a 'like', only to find that it had somehow ended up in MY post. I presume that some of the BBcode syntax/tags/whatever got a bit mixed up.
I wasn't prepared to give my own post a 'like' (IMO, not a good look!), so please just take this post as a 'like' substitute.

I reckon we've all made similar mistakes.

On way home and I must say that Detroit really surprised me. It is a nice clean city, lovely architecture, very friendly people, from the public to the wait staff and Uber drivers etc. Yes it has an issue with homeless folk, folk who wander around arguing with themselves etc, but certainly in downtown I never felt unsafe. I actually really enjoyed my brief visit there.
The wedding was held at a venue called Roostertail. We had to go through a more dodgy area, albeit on the up. The stage of the venue in the room it was held, had Diana Ross performing in her early days which was interesting I guess.

I just looked up the wedding venue the Roostertail. Their website certainly doesnât sell them short, it looks like a great place to get married. Did you take many photos with your phone? The reason I ask is because of the thread about high end camera phones seems to have got a bit of traction.

The reason I ask is because of the thread about high end camera phones seems to have got a bit of traction. I took most of the photos with my phone, family stuff and buildings mainly. None of the actual wedding as we were asked not to and to leave it to the photographers/videographers.
