I hope it was a drill, whatever, you made a great picture of it. Yes, it was berthed in the harbour. I suppose it was a safe place for a drill.

I guess they are technically life rafts. And unless I am hit with some memory, get hit by a massive whack of inspiration, or come across a lifeboat in Alderley village this morning, that's my lot! I also came on here to post church pictures. Got my days well and truly mixed up. ... Those big arrows pointing at the launch buttons are so tempting in at what happens if I push this kind of way. The only way they could be more tempting is if they had a "Do not push this button" sign by them...

Thinking of yesterday - Lightboat container - with the red doors. The full resolution view shows "Clovelly Lifeboat Station" written above the door. I'm quite surprised that I haven't more lifeboat pictures, nor lifeboat stations although I can think of three nearby to where I have taken pictures - my failure to label images properly is probably to blame. 274A3618.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I have just remembered I took this photo in May. It is Blakeney lifeboat station in Norfolk, although it did close in 1935! Blakeney lifeboat station by Nigel G, on Flickr

Thinking of boundaries I'm reminded of some words of wisdom from some sky diving acquaintances. You may have heard 'the skies the limit'but we both know it's the ground! Here then are the boundaries of the ground: Mind the cliff! by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr Looking at Felexistowe by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr With some fence boundaries added in for good measure

This rather lovely iron fence used to act as a boundary between "garden" and "parkland" but the parkland is no longer grazed and is given over to wild flower meadow. Bodnant. I failed to find a picture of the ha-ha at Chirk too. I must have given up trying to get a composition. From within the garden you can only look down into it. From 2012 and not looked at since. The iron fence in the foreground separates garden from field (grazed parkland) and this bit of [woodland] garden is fenced around until the fence meets the ha-ha. The topiary hedges mark the boundary of the formal gardens (closest) and the further hedges delineate parts of the gardens. Like at Bodnant [this part of ] the field is no longer grazed and they permit passage to the woodland garden for at least part of the year - I presume to try to minimise wear to the formal lawns in snowdrop season because the lawns get chewed up by the footfall.
