Rugby Union U20s World Cup has started. Good time to remember when the 2017 French team refused to back down to the Kiwi's silly dance routine.

Re England match. Am I dreaming that, at first, they announced 5 minutes extra time and then changed it to 6 minutes? Had they stuck with 5 then what a different story! Mick Stoppage time should be interpreted as a minimum of ___minutes, not maximum.

Mick Stoppage time should be interpreted as a minimum of ___minutes, not maximum. Yes I know and I've been at many (local) matches where stoppage time has been extended. This is the first time I've ever seen an announcement of so many minutes (5 in this case) followed almost at once by a second announcement that it was 6 minutes. Especially relevant because, as we all now know, the equaliser was in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

if the ball is in the "danger area" then the games continues until a "point of neutrality" occurs- a goal kick, or the ball is hoofed down the other end, or even out for a throw in.

I read that ITV made a mistake by putting up 5 minutes of extra time on the screen, when the 4th official had shown 6 minutes. ITV then amended the time on the screen.

It's unofficial- probably as a result of a referee blowing for time as a corner was taken and the ball ending up in the back of the net, the goal being chalked off! Clive Thomas was the offending ref. See discussion here

Can anyone imagine how painful 120+ minutes of France v England will be in the final?

Good to see Southampton building a squad for the 2025/26 EFL Championship.

Glad I got one off the last ball but one to tie the scores, less nervy than facing the last! We won, by the way.
