Sarah and I were only saying the other day that we ought to visit Lincoln. Is it worth the trip? I love Lincoln and always have, we did it the day after Durham. Steph was more impressed with Durham but talking about your question we agree that Lincoln might have been x+1 where x in the number of towns and cities that you can visit in eight days before getting tourist burn out.

Wheels An old one but a reminder of how it sometimes was in my old home. Spring cleaning time! by Kate Ferris, on Flickr Having just spent the morning up to my knees in grass and boggy areas, planting about 25 trees - then hosing down my boots, changing my trousers, washing mud off gloves - I thought "this is spring!" Spring for me is getting totally ... um... tired! Tired doing all the jobs that need doing now! Oh I like doing them - the sowing of seeds, the planting of trees, the clearing up after the winter storms - but the frustrations soon come when I also need to do some window painting - when I want to be beachcombing! I found the wheelbarrow tucked under some bushes. It had been blown there in 100mph winds in January - and I hadn't turfed it out of its hiding place. Have done so now, so now 'we' have to clean it up ready for summer use. Nothing special in the taking of the picture (see exif), although because I didn't want to raise the ISO, I had to pretend I was target shooting and just squeeze the button. Just a boost in contrast and a cool filter post processing. The tyre says not to be used over 10km/hr! I wonder what would happen if I ran really fast with it? Hmm! Happy Spring to you all. May your days be filled with sunshine - enough to do all those jobs that must be done. ) K8 2009

Labourer complains to foreman that his wheelbarrow squeaks. All day long, eeek, ...., eeek, ....., eeek and it's driving me mad. You're fired says the foreman. Fired? Says the labourer, for complaining about my noisy wheelbarrow? No, says the foreman, fired because it should have be going eeek, eeek, eeek, eeek ....

I think it fair to say that this is a picture of a wheel, rather than of something that has wheels. 274A0467.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

The only wheel that comes up on a search for wheel is the water-wheel at Cotehele ( which rhymes with wheel, the 'h' being silent) DSCF1269.jpg by Pete, on Flickr edit: found another one after a long search, now labelled in LR. It is (I think) on the Wandle at Abbey Mills. It was in a bunch of pictures for Morden Hall Park but I don't think it is in the Park as such. We would have walked to the Park from Abbey Mills.
