I tried to keep to On the water rather than In the water. I tend to think of ships and boats being in the water. Anyway..., on Flickr When I went boating I always thought of it as on the water. If I was in the water things generally weren't going so well! A 27 foot boat in the middle of the north sea in a force 7 & having a wave break over me had me too busy holding on to be sick - It was at least our quickest Harwich-Flushing crossing but still took 17 hours (not much fun). Admittedly the submersible canoe was good fun (at one point we were paddling along with water up to our chests).
