Pyromelitic Dianhydride. No idea why it popped into my brain, but it's been buzzing round and round like a particularly annoying wasp. Finally had to look it up to see if my memory of its structure was correct (It was) and it's main use (The synthesis of polyimide like kapton), also correct. I guess it's what you get if you're a retired organic chemist.

That's what they say at the crisp factory... Believe it or not, when I was a consultant, I worked in a crisp factory and can tell you, with absolute certainty, that crisps, straight out of the cooker, are splendiferous.

I've had home-made crisps. They were pretty good too. Once they had cooled down a bit.

I’ve absolutely no idea what any of your words are about but you being an organic chemist 👨🔬 fills me with joy and the confidence you know.
