Never done one. It’s what I think of as Endurance Photography and I would do it religiously for about nine days, forget one day and then beat myself up over my failings for the remainder of the year. I don’t need that kind of negativity or pressure in my life right now.

I happen to have taken pictures each day of the year thus far, until today. But 4 days in a row must be a record for me without a target or holiday.

Anyone committed to doing a 365 project (daily photo) of some sort? I reckon I can handle a week, maybe a month at a push, but would have to rely on mobile phone camera for a lot of it. No. Did it once, found it too stressful. What I want to do next year is put together a book of pics of the week, and one vintage camera pic per month. That I feel I can manage. Well I've rethought it already. My father-in-law died on Saturday. Not at all unexpected, he had been on end-of-life care for some months. As with most deaths of family these days, it makes me introspective, and this time, I'm tearing up the plans above, which weren't really inspiring me - in early January... I'm going for two tasks a month, covering my personal photography and the collecting side - and trying to get them more integrated. Firstly, a calendar of pics of the month. Simple, easy, achievable. Secondly, I'll write a "brand of the month" article (not committing to publishing it amywhere in particular, though!) - features on some of the cameras in use, take some pics with some of them, that sort of thing. And at some point, I might even try filming one of them - can't see myself as a YouTube star, somehow, but I think the challenge might be interesting. January will be Lomo - been using the Holga and the Sprocket Rocket, need to feed the Diana and get my Cosmic Symbol out - oh, and the Lubitel. Pentax up for February, Praktica in March, and we'll see where I go after that.

I failed this on the 2nd January, and the 4th.
It's a rare treat to get creative though. Mostly it's just quick record shots.

I hope all goes well with the funeral, best wishes and commiserations to you and your wife.

No way I could do that. I haven’t used a ’real’ camera this year, I’ve used phones or iPad.

I’m completely in awe of what, for example, Kate and Kath can do. It is another planet to me. Oh gods, yes, I suffer from total art failure!
