When we moved into this house it had the full on "Practical Householder" cover every door in hardboard treatment, included in this enforced blandness was the banisters. Then unclothed they revealed a love heart motif. IMG_4050mono by Keith Hudson, on Flickr When we had the loft conversion done we insisted that the motif was followed in the new banister.
