Hopping woodpecker. Kinda serendipitous. The woodpecker (female Great Spotted) moved just as I hit the shutter release so it is a little blurred and both feet are off the trunk. Taken in December last year. DSCF6643.jpg by Pete, on Flickr I missed birding at the high spring tides at Parkgate yesterday and today (other commitments). They are great for raptor pictures but have gotten very popular so lots and lots of people.

Not a great shot - was practising birds in flight last June. Redshank make a challenging subject, they fly low and quick. A little Dunlin is keeping up. Probably posted here before, June 4th 2023 at a guess. DSCF1386.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I just had to try reprocessing this - one of the first attempts I made at Birds in Flight. Taken in 2012 this Egyptian goose pair had taken off from the water and were circling for height. BV9R0017-Enhanced-NR.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

DSC_5641-9 by Stephen Hayto, on Flickr Just about managed to get a shot of this kingfisher heading across the pond, they fly so fast, I think it's just luck

Ancient and not very good pic. of this laying blueish green eggs on my Hollyhocks. _MG_2742 by Keith Hudson, on Flickr Equally ancient photo of Damsel fly doing the rather complicated breeding thing that they do, I assume there will be an egg somewhere.
