I learned that a fool and his money are more easily parted if he's interested in photography

Despite using it a few weeks ago, I hadn't used it for six or eight months, prior to that. I'm uncomfortable with having good equipment sitting around doing nothing. Well at least it's looking good on the shelf, right? I rather fancy a nice 6x6 but they have always been out of reach. Dream was a Rollei SL66 with its built in movement but £££ then and even more now. The simplicity and sheer handsomeness of the Bronica S2 also appealed. How about I give you £20 for the job lot, you ok with that?
Seems a fair deal for an SQ-a with four lenses.
I agree about the S2, though. The SQ-a is very nice (and newer, of course) but if I were buying now, I'd go for an S2a.

If I may borrow Adrian's ( gray1720 ) line:-
Oi! I resemble that remark.

What I have learnt is that I’ve still got a lot more to learn.

I learned that sometimes, I just like to go for a walk and not even take any photographs I learned that clients don't 'get' why using me for three quarters of their website photographs but getting their nephew to do some on his iphone isn't necessarily in their best interests, or, given they don't seem to care on their own count, mine. I learned that I once bought a tilt shift lens which I use so infrequently, I'd forgotten I had it. That's going to help fund the new camera.

Seems a fair deal for an SQ-a with four lenses. Only 4? Unless they are the good ones the offered £20 now includes tracked postage too.

That you men are far more concerned about your health than I ever gave you credit for in my life. It has been a revelation for me.

Via the Post Office? Thoroughly dependable.

what was your key takeaway from 2023 with regard to your photography?
I learned that - despite deciding to sell my MF Bronica - actually making myself sell it is far harder than I thought it would be. The last time I tried selling off my SQ kit I shifted a couple of 120 backs but talked myself out of selling the rest of it, I still have a broken SQAi, and a working SQ plus lenses from 40mm to 150mm prism and WLF and another three or four backs.

What did I learn yesterday? The location of a lot of missing files then remembered that I had made space on the MacBook prior to going to Croatia by putting most of 2022 on a small low profile memory stick. At least I now know where all the Malta balcony shots are.

That I am possibly not as happy with my EOS M6 mk2 as I thought I was, not the camera but the fact that I still lust after the wide aperture lenses I had on full frame. You can add to that, the EOS 50mm f/1.4 L does not like to AF on the M6, manual focus with focus confirmation is quicker.
That mid summer / early autumn I needed a workable xpan / horizont alternative I am still working on that one.

I know the problem, Keith. I've got close to selling mine a few times.
The trouble is that although I don't use the SQ-a very much, I really like it, as a "thing". The usual routine is that (while it's still packed away) I make a decision to sell it. Then I bring it out, to start preparing it for sale..... only to realise that I don't actually want to sell it.
