What is the car Mike? It looks tiny. I think it is a historic 'formula ford' (It was at the Formula Ford Festival 50th Anniversary celebration meeting) One of the more basic single seat championships, but the modern ones do look quite different, having no wings... I've not been able to pin down a definite model, there were multiple body shells used in the 1970s...

I was hoping to find a photo of my wedding I have somewhere with relatives from New Zealand cloned into the background, but I'm afraid the best I can manage is this one (one of the Groom's aunts) from a wedding reception two years ago

I have always liked the single make or single engine relatively low cost formulas, recently I have been enjoying the Ginettas and 1/2 scale space frame American 50's silhouette supports to the BTCC races on TV, not keen on the Porches though for some reason.

Some of the karts are surprisingly quick too. The Ginettas have left the BTCC support role & now have their own events (I suspect I'll be attending one or two of their meetings this year - much less work for us than the touring car meets) The Legends I'd first met at Knockhill a few years back, they do make for a bit of a change. I know what you mean about the Porches (both the Carrera cup & the new Caymen sprint series) They are fast, but they don't look exotic and unlike the touring cars they tend to avoid contact... Mini's have always shown the benefits of low cost racing- large fields where the drivers aren't too worried about getting close. The resulting incidents can cause delay's while the circuit is repaired however. My eldest got to sit in the drivers seat of one of the Carrera GT3s when he was small - nearly 20 years ago (sadly when I didn't have any sort of camera at the meeting). I'm told his current van doesn't go quite as well!

240107-Frozen Leaf by Kath Polley, on Flickr It's probably because I'm not very fit these days, but I wasn't feeling the cold at all on my walk round the woods on Sunday. So I was quite surprised to find these ice-encrusted leaves.

The kite surfing championship I attended was on a bitterly cold day, wrappeds up in a coat I was freezing, and I was dry! Dread to think what it was like for the competitors. kite surfing at Clacton by Mike Kanssen, on Flickr

Ooh, my cousin had one of those in a bottle. I was staying with my aunt for some reason, and her two children were away at boarding school. I was being nosy and having a look at his bookshelves when I found the scorpion. Decided his bookshelves didn't need my attention after that. I'd have been about 8.
