..... it's getting near to "That" time of year to utter one of those cliched phrases 😮 Wishing everyone 'a Happy (as is possible) Christmas and all the best for a safe and successful 2024 🙂. Now, for an appropriate or, for that matter, inappropriate snap or joke for some art the "star" atop the Christmas tree (Dec 24th, 2003) and notice the "non politically correct" Christmas greeting on the West/North Vancouver transit bus 😮 ......... You are not alone......"Grumpy" is what all my family call me after I rejected "Granddad", "Grandpa" and all the other suggestions made on becoming a grandparent although, on occasion, all my 5 grandchildren have been chastised by teachers for referring to me as such........no sense of humour, some people!!

I once shocked a few people when I greeted an old friend of the family. Any time you asked how he was he'd always say "grumpy and cantankerous", with a big grin. On this occasion he was talking to a couple of people I didn't know. When I passed him I asked "hey _____, you grumpy and cantankerous as always?" Honestly you should have seen their faces. The guys I didn't know thought I'd just insulted him and looked suitably horrified, but he couldn't keep a straight face and found it hilarious. I left him to explain it. |

My work colleagues tell me I'm grumpy. I just tell them that they'd be grumpy too if they had to work with the people I do. One of them still hasn't twigged...
