I was chatting about the things people only consume at Christmas earlier and it left me pondering what ever happened to the other Nogs? Clearly the fact that it's called Egg Nog, suggests there must have been other varieties. We're they all failed experiments or did Cheese Nog just fall out of popularity?

I believe the infilling of the spaces between timbers in a half-timbered house with brickwork is known as nogging.

"Our deep, ruby-red ale graces the senses with comforting splashes of warm hints. Inside, you’ll find a rich, chocolatey taste, tucked away with liquorice and treacle." That seems mildly pretentious for beer.

I have never heard of Norfolk Nog so never partaken in its delights! It sounds delicious though

I believe the infilling of the spaces between timbers in a half-timbered house with brickwork is known as nogging. Noggins are still used in modern wooden partition work, typically to add strength between two occupiers or for adding metal back boxes when fire regulations or noise transmission prohibit the use of plastic dry line boxes. One of the easiest jobs I had was walking around a warehouse conversion with a set of drawings marking where others should insert noggins. The most difficult part of the job was trying to look busy whilst waiting for the framers to put walls up that I could then mark up with back box positions.

Noggin can also mean head in Scots. Dunnoo what's going on in his noggin! As for Norfolk Nog... It's quite nice. You can even make it with a homebrew set.
