I know you are always very modest about your photography but that is chef's kiss level. Love it! Thanks but it is all perchance. We were lucky that he was doing the top and the light was on him when we came in. Later pics aren't as interesting although it is a neat bit of kit. I guess the hedge/topiary clipping is an annual must-do at Powis. The hedges never look scruffy (although in that picture it looks like he missed a bit on the way up). I've seen the "event" featured photographically in the newspapers from time to time - it being early September holiday time and they look for fillers. I think I put this one up in APForum back in time - the pics were September 2015. More clip clip clip - shows the tractor unit for the raised platform a bit better. BV9R0164.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

All the best unstaged photos were "by chance" Pete, the point is you saw it and made the most of the scene in front of you, and that takes more than point and click, it's the grey matter that makes it work. Can guarantee that if 10 people stood in the same place at the same time not everyone would get an image as pleasing as yours. Own it!

I think it was attributed to a golfer 'The more I practice, the luckier I get', we have the same by chance shots when the camera becomes a way of seeing.

I used to love the way the arts centre used to put their cinema posters up on the walls of the cafe restaurant rooms. They stopped and replaced them with local art which doesn't really float my boat. When the took them down, I asked if I could have some, but they gave some spurious reason why they couldn't. This was a reminder of that time I made before they went. ap splash of colour poster by Kate Ferris, on Flickr

My first thought was colour popping which I have never liked and only attempted a few times so I am not very good at it anyway. So a as is colour pop looking picture, which is not a colour pop. Broadgate IMG_1160edit by Keith Hudson, on Flickr I need to think on this some more.

Buoy on the marine lake. For a change this one is yellow. The reflection of a cloudy sky always gives a monotone background which makes different colours stand out. DSCF6316.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Another from the same day. Red Marker - I did look up what exactly it signified but I have forgotten the answer. DSCF6312.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
