More rough than fairway. A part of Church Stretton golf course seen (June 2007) from the public footpath. IMG_0022.jpg by Pete, on Flickr looks like this was posted APForum in December 2020.

This doesn't stand close scrutiny because the camera shake is terrible. Once used to image stabilisation .... It is a bit of a shock to find bad shake at 1/17 s on 35 mm (equivalent) with a non-stabilised camera (X100V) when I could fairly certainly have held a 300 mm (equivalent) with fuji IBIS + OIS. Annoying because if I had realised at the time I could have put the ISO up a couple of stops. The contrast between the rough bark and the ivy was pleasing at the time. I might go back and have another try if I can remember where exactly it was. Taken at Ness Gardens (November 22nd, so quite new). DSCF0871.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

It was near a river so I was perhaps able to get low down relatively speaking. I have great trouble getting up, even if I can get down in a controlled way. This comes to mind only because I saw it the other day while scanning for something else DSCF6135.jpg by Pete, on Flickr Same day, hundred or so yards away. Almost certainly from a sitting position because I remember sitting on the rocks and waiting for the dipper to come closer DSCF6131.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I've yet to get as good a shot of one yet! Tricky little blighters.

You did well with the dipper. I've yet to get as good a shot of one yet! Tricky little blighters. I still haven't got a good one. The photo has been posted before on APForum. Steve (Bazarchie) was keen to get a photo, I think he did get a good one in the end, on this river on the stretch between Bellever Forest (this shot) and Postbridge. This dipper was quite flighty. I missed a good opportunity. It had flown off and I was walking upstream, camera over my shoulder, toward where the toadstool was found, when the Dipper overtook me!

Somebody else getting down, (my body doesn't bend too well these days)
Any guesses on who the bug hunter might be?

This must have been taken from a low position. I'd rated it as not-quite reject because it is obscured by out-of-focus grass but it is quite pleasing. Ruddy Darter on grass (July 2023). I did go out with a camera today but I decided that I didn't feel agile enough to get into the spirit of things so today's photo-score is 0. DSCF4898.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
