As I've spent a sizeable chunk of the last 24 hours playing with an old Retinette, I thought I'd share a photo of my lens collimation set-up, which I adapted from here: elekm.net/zeiss-ikon/repair/collimate/
Those with a long memory may recall that I bought that lovely chunky Silver Jupiter 11a specifically for this job, as the Edixa Reflex has a waist-level finder with a magnifier. I can do it with my Nikon F3, and just use the bottom of the viewfinder chimney, but it's more awkward.

I use a more basic approach - I'm not aiming at the house opposite, though, but at the ridge in the distance.

Could you use a DSLR with live view, image displayed on a HD or 4K screen? Sounds a lot easier than peering into an ancient waist level finder with an equally ancient mirror.

Yer, I get that these are tools that you have, just testing the idea for others who may have a different toolbox and indeed my understanding of what was going on.
