That is like every Rileys snooker hall I have ever seen. A shit hole.

A grim reminder of working in London all those years ago...

The [later] view from our road doesn't do it justice but driving back from town this afternoon along the main road which is straighter and when the clear part of the sky was much brighter, the bank of cloud was "Grim" - fully deserving a "G" over a "g". DSCF3426.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

Perhaps this was a harder topic than I anticipated but thanks to those that contributed. There were different takes on grim. As I expected, we had a bus stop one from Kate. I always like your bus stop images. As Zou mentioned some architecture, whilst grim, can also be pretty. I particularly liked Rising. Keiths image of the snooker hall appeals as it so familiar and indicative of a grim place, as is Kath's image of the bar, the sort of place you would just keep on walking by. My choice though, and actually quite different to the mentions above is Kath's Royal Oban Hotel. Whilst not as grim looking as other photos (and the ones I had in mind when setting the theme)there is something that really appeals to me with it. perhaps because I have been in some grim hotels over the years and that image just resonates. So, over to you Kath.

Bold choice of theme Kath! I did think, just for a split second, of going in that direction! You'll be pleased to hear I changed my mind.
