According to the local news website, temperatures today could reach 30C.
Whenever they report high temperatures, they talk about “the mercury reaching…….”. I’m pretty certain that mercury no longer features in thermometers these days.

It's been decent today, about 19° and mostly sunny. Clouded over a bit at lunchtime and there must have been a 20 minute downpour whilst we were indoors.

Currently we are right on the Northern edge, there's a bit of mizzle, and some strong wind. More forecast late lunchtimeish - looks as though I won't be mowing the allotments tomorrow.

I'm right in the middle of the yellow warning area, expecting it to be raining all day today and most of tomorrow. Possibly also the weekend.

We’ve got two yellow warnings for rain. The first one ends at 23.45 tonight and the next one starts at 00.00 Friday.
So I’ve got 15 minutes tonight of potentially good weather, I wonder what I can do to make the most of it?
