Jean's Bothy is a community Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub, and I've been delivering the Photography & Wellbeing group there for about three years. This year we took part in the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival with an event last night, hosted at the Scottish Submarine Centre in Helensburgh, along with one of the arts groups and the Creative Writing Group. There were paintings on display, a book of written work on sale with readings and songs and the photography element was an in the round projection from floor to ceiling. Ten photographers took part, myself included. Seeing it at the Submarine Centre was really special but I've saved the video and a gallery for each photographer with links to project statements where they were supplied, to my website. Feel free to take a look. Most of those who took part have never done any photography before, most were using mobile phones. I think they did a sterling job! www.kathrynpolleyphotography.com/jeans-bothy-photography-wellbeing

Enjoyed the video over a cuppa. Easy to see what caught the photographers eye and some lovely views. The trees were my favourites.

I agree (although I viewed it sans cuppa ).

This isn't my photograph but it gives an idea of what it was like to be there on the night.

Were all the photographs projected simultaneously onto all the different surfaces - above, and all around?
If so, the visual effect must have been impressive... in particular, with the tree photographs.

Just about...all four walls and onto the midget class submarine in the middle of the room! It really was immersive, and when the shots were of water you felt almost as if you could just step into the loch and get wet.

That was brilliant Kath. If most of them were beginners, then I think I should give up.
Wish I could have got to the exhibition.
