I think it’s the last day today for anybody that’s interested. £73:49 actually but still a good deal

Just looked on the Adobe website and it’s two hundred and thirty eight quid now I detest Photoshop with a vengeance because of the rip off price. I won’t pay for the name and my photography won’t get any better if I subscribe to their money grabbing scheme. Some people will enjoy having their wallet massaged and other enjoy the whole process of enhancing their image but for me life’s just too short to be messing around. I can’t remember from one week to the next how I need to process stuff so I decided a long time ago not to join the club. I sometimes crop an image other than that I don’t do anything. So I’m better off in time and in money 💴

So I’m better off in time and in money 💴 If you don't use it then I agree. On average through the year I probably spend 2-3 hours a day in Lightroom, where all my images live, a portion of that will be looking for and reprocessing images for the daily theme. I get good use out of it even if I don't use all the tools that photography plan offers. The greater cost now is having to upgrade hardware because my computer can't run the latest versions. This detracts a bit from the "always up to date" advantage of the subscription. I don't know what my subscription is - I'd guess that it is nearer £130 than £230 per annum but I'll go and check. They were turning to provision of cloud storage as a significant income stream and pushing "mobile" versions of the software with the expectation that local storage wasn't needed by many. I guess this goes with phone users and many using wireless functions in cameras. Cloud storage costs are quite significant. The 20 GB cloud storage of the thread title will cost a bit.

Fortunately for my wallet and my sanity the only mud brick software I have is their Acrobat reader. If I want to work on terrestrial photos I have Affinity Photo otherwise it's PixInsight or AstroArt 8.

If I want to work on terrestrial photos I have Affinity Photo otherwise it's PixInsight or AstroArt 8. I also use Affinity Publisher; it works seamlessly with Affinity Photo. I do not miss Photoshop at all. I do miss Adobe Lightroom for its DAM.
