Took a DSLR out for a change. After it stopped raining we had a bit of fading sun. Can't decide whether to bin this or not. The light cuts a cloud and makes it look as if it is banding, it isn't but spoils it for me. After the autumn rain (taken today with a very wet camera)  274A2170.jpg by Pete, on Flickr |

After the autumn rain (taken today with a very wet camera) 274A2170.jpg by Pete, on Flickr The apparent banding is annoying, I re did a pano earlier in the week thinking that PS had mucked up the join between two frames when the clouds just did not look plausible, closer inspection showed the fault to be entirely on one frame and was just the way the light was. |

Closer to home. The (council's) Ash tree outside our house is getting ready to drop. The leaves have to be picked up because they don't blow away, just turn to a squelchy mess all over the pavement, road and driveway. Usually takes 20+ of 50 litre bin bags. I have filled 5 or 6 so far already. Luckily the bags can go to the allotment and the contents rot away usefully.  DSCF6141.jpg by Pete, on Flickr |
