What a great article on a near forgotten facet of photography which at the same time is alive and well with filters and apps that replace facial features with those from a cartoon animal or change the background entirely. A modern version of the hall of mirrors would appear to be taking ultra close up wide angle face shot, a process which amuses a portion of today's youth.
Whilst the technology changes humans remain as frivolous and vain in equal proportions, I find that quite reassuring.
