Wilko.
I wonder when/if #shopstaines will get around to changing their window display?

For a moment I was expecting E J Thribb to be waxing lyrical

I'm not that talented.
Though I did have one of my poems read out by Sir T. Wogan during the last week of his shows on R2...

Monday morning, ours was lit and had a couple of people clearing the last of the stock off the shelves._

We don't have one particularly close to us that I'm aware of. There was one in the Clydebank Shopping Centre, which I think I have been to perhaps twice, and may have spent up to about £3 a time while in there. I'm not really sure how the shopping centre itself is still functioning. Certainly the big mall in Glasgow, the St Enoch's Centre is rapidly becoming a place to go to for activities/food rather than shopping. My son regularly goes Axe Throwing with his friends but I don't think much shopping happens any more.

My local 3 Wilkos have all gone. Strangely (?) the nearest one shut first and on the Saturday after, all the interior lights were on in broad daylight (early morning) despite the place being empty. They were also all on the next time I passed a few days later. Huge waste of electricity

Or maybe the last one out the door who usually turns the lights out thought "F*** IT , they don't pay me to turn them off now !" It's a shame their gone , I used to get quite a few things at my two local stores .

It's a shame their gone , I used to get quite a few things at my two local stores . I've never set foot in one. Apparently there was one about a dozen kilos of Co2 away in an out of town retail park with a massive car park. When I worked in the local to me supermarket the days they were closed the lights were left on and I was told it was for insurance purposes.

Last Saturday the lights were off in my now-abandoned former Wilko store. Sad indeed

Empty shops are the future!!! New businesses will come to the forefront and take on the space left and then they too will fail ☠️it’s progress of sorts
