This is a King Regula Cita III. It has a coupled rangefinder, light meter, and one of those accursed LVS shutter arrangements. I bought this particular example in an auction lot. It looks very nice, but suffers from stiff focusing and a hesitant shutter. I haven't decided yet whether to overhaul it.

Looks to be in excellent condition, probably another project at a later date.

I was on a roll after working on the Yashica 35, so I opened up the Cita III. Its problems were caused by dried out lubricant, and I found a number of scrunched film chips in the camera. After cleaning and lubrication, it's now working well.

Congratulations John, in getting the little Cita III to work again.

Top work, John, that's a pretty camera, and not one I'd ever heard of before your post.

Out of nosiness, how similar was the shutter on this to the Copal on your Yashica?

One thing you should do after working on a camera, is retest it the day after you finish working on it. I just tested the Cita III - the rangefinder and shutter are working fine, still, but the focus ring is as stiff as it was to start with, and the wind lever is not returning after winding. This is because I didn't completely dismantle and clean the parts, but did a more basic clean. The Yashica, however, is still fine.
