Well, I haven't taken a photo yet, but it certainly mounnts (stop sniggering, zou, you filthy git) without undue violence. Random thought - does telling the camera which lens it has mounted actually make any difference to how it meters? I don't think I've changed my settings ini years, and never notoiced any difference.

I think it's only relevant for exif recording and potentially image stabilisation.

It's certainly bitten one person (how they could have thought the image was taken with a 400mm is beyond me), and I use a shoulder stock for stabilisation, so that suits me just fine.

I guess the lens I finally got adapted to my 5x4 fits reasonably in this thread. I've had it for about 15 months, but have only just got the custom lens board made This 5" wide beast weighs about 2.2kg, brings infinity to focus about 150mm behind the lens & easily covers 5x4 with typical movements. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedBy my calculations it's roughly a 150mm f/1.2 I suppose it still needs some sort of aperture control & a shutter to be of much use, f1.2 is a bit bright for just covering/uncovering the lens with my 'photographers hat' These shots shot it focused to about 1.5m (not quite on target) as the shot below shows the ground glass is almost as bright as the periphery that's not gone through the camera. It's not really weird, but it is germane to the thread - this is my Mum's old Adaptall 2 lens (I don't suppose she ever used it - she wanted to take photos, but never had the time to actually work out how) on my D200. I'm going to have to remember the set-up should I want to send anyone an unsolicited dick pic, as the angle and the phone camera make it look longer and thicker than it actually is! Adaptall-2 Tamron 80-210mm by gray1720, on Flickr I reckon it works OK! Could perhaps be slightly sharper, but that may well be because I was desperately hunting the ****ing focus confirm light, which is right in one corner of the viewfinder, whilst keeping the bird in frame! BTW, I've cropped the sides to make it portrait rather than landscape, but it's not been cropped vertically. This birdie doesn't mind humans much. Robin by gray1720, on Flickr

I've got a similar one, mine is 70-210 f3.5, not had it out of the drawer for years since I got a Minolta 70-210 f2.8, know anybody that wants one?

I have 2 of those (my Dad, brother & I all had one in film days). I always thought of it as a respectable (but not stellar) performer. Tamron made a surprising number of adaptall variants in 70-210 or 80-210 ranges there's 03A, 103A, 158A, 19AH, 46A, 47A, 52A, 58A as well as the odd 85-210, & 70-220...

Hmm. How do I avoid never-ending nested quotes when using the phone?

Hmm. How do I avoid never-ending nested quotes when using the phone? Use the delete key, trim to manageable length?

Now you've said that I can see the button saying "desktop mode" that I'd never spotted before. Doh! Let's give it a go...
ETA it sort of works, but the view is so tiny I had a pig of a job finding the button to turn it back. Ho hum.
