Excursion to Leicester for the King Richard III exhibition. On 22 August, 1485, at the Battle of Bosworth, Richard III led a mounted cavalry charge against Henry Tudor in an attempt to kill him and end the conflict. During the ensuing fighting Richard III was surrounded by Tudor’s supporters who cut him down. Contemporary accounts generally agree that a blow, or blows to the head killed Richard III, some crediting Welsh foot soldiers armed with halberds as the killers. For many years Historians searched for his Last Resting Place . Finally the site of the Greyfriars Church was found under a Car Park and by ground penetrating Radar burial plots were found. On excavation the Skeleton which showed Scoliosis was proved to be that of King Richard III and in a Ceremony and a specially designed coffin taken to Leicester Cathedral for re-interment. 1956 Agfa Isolette III 75mm f3.5 Solinar, outdated FP4+ processed in Pyrocat HD

Always beats me why they built a car park in Leicester hundreds of years before the car was invented, and then decided to use it as a burial ground in the meantime.....

Did the late King's physical impairment entitle him to a blue badge, if not he (or his descendants) owe an awful lot of parking fines
