Behave! We live a hundred yards of so from a main road in and out of town. The sailing of emergency vehicles is still a sound you don't get used to.

We now have a group of plainclothes police photographing the fence at the end of the driveway opposite, and the yard behind it.

Couple of good looking estate cars. GM NZ? Australian - the police car is a Holden Commodore. They are no longer made, so newer cars are Skoda Superbs. The one across the road is a Holden Astra belonging to the lady in the front flat opposite.

Any sign of someone leaving? Someone was put in the back of a police car...the neighbour who is most knowlegeable says that windows were broken, and other unspecified things are going on.

Here the Holden Commodore is a Vauxhall Insignia and the Astra was an Astra although most likely with a Vauxhall badge, but possibly some Opel branded ones around too. Our police estate cars seem to be mostly Chinese made Volvo V90s these days after the German made BMWs kept destroying engines.

Well, the police have just left the flat at the end of the drive across the road.

I think you're mistaken Andy , since - as a result of thirteen years of Tory austerity policies - the only police cars to be seen in this country, are in episodes of Vera.

We heard more of the story from the knowledgeable neighbour - the son of the tenant of the flat opposite was supposedly stabbed by his girlfriend. He's about the place this morning, so it can't be too serious.
