Have packs of 1999 Dated FUJI ASTIA 220 size in fridge !

Well -- I have packs of 1999 dated FUJI ASTIA 220 size in fridge so thought I would 'take a chance' to try one in one of my cameras that takes 220 size. I took my 1984 Mamiya C220  on a coach trip to Hemingford Abbots and got it processed by John Salim of Southend-on Sea and was amazed at the results for 1999 E6 film !  the D-Max was a bit low and it scanned with a Blue cast on some but I could correct that in Software as I would doing a Darkroom Print with filters in the Enlarger . I rated it 100 ASA -- for E6 film I DO NOT DOWNRATE IT only on C41 and B&W NEGATIVE outdated fillums !   Here are a selection of snaps -

Nice! Colour not quite as good as new but still better than a lot of the film shots I've seen online these days.

Astia was a low saturation film to start with, that may be why it has weathered as well as it has.

I still have a roll of ORWOCHROME transparency film in my fridge, unopened and unused. Some days I feel half-tempted to shoot it and send it off in the enclosed envelope and see what happens......

ORWO ORiginal WOlfen. Tried it once and didn't like it.
