Went on a Coach trip to Hertsmonceux Castle East Sussex - the B&W Film Camera I took was my 1930's VOIGTLANDER BESSA 66 Folder loaded with 120 size FOMAPN 200 which In had been given -- well I processed it in my home-made 2-bath formula which usually gives good results BUT on this occasion RUBBISH RESULTS ! It came out all 'Blotchy' -- never seen such results before -- it is not 'Reticulation' --- FOMAPAN 200 Deterioration 02 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr FOMAPAN 200 Deterioration 01 by Peter Elgar, on Flickr

You are right pentaxpete that is not reticulation. I remember some 'talk' of Fomapan 54 doing something similar, have you asked over there? FWIW I have done an accidental emulsion lift with no sign of reticulation, that was a final wash mixer tap temperature error in final wash. Cacti. by Keith Hudson, on Flickr The last time I had reticulation was in the early 1980's, modern emulsion just does not seem to do it. Not that Fomapan is that modern.

That looks a bit buggered, Pete!
I had a batch of Rera Pan 127 that did much the same, annoyingly I had several rolls left, but didn't dare shoot any more as it was so bad.

I had something similar about forty years ago with Ilford XP1, processed in the dedicated chemicals that were available at the time. I have no idea of the cause. The only other that came near was T-Max 400 rather later which I eventually concluded was wetting agent I'd used in one of the final rinses not being fully washed out of the tank or spiral after use, despite thorough washing. I increased the amount of washing and the problem disappeared, though it was more of an increased grain effect.

I've seen this before, I think one of mine ended up like this so did a search on Photrio/APUG . I think the conclusion was damp, possibly from condensation, had got into the backing paper and caused it . It was quite a few years ago and I might be mistaken . I've tried doing a quick search , but didn't spot the thread .

It turns out I didn't have the problem with Foma film , it was Ilford . This was taken with my "NOON" Medium format Pinhole camera , made out of some nice Walnut wood . It was taken in November 2018 , developed not long after . These were taken on Ilford's Pan F+ , ISO 50 film , with the camera set up for 6x9cm images . Developed in Rodinal at 1+25 for 6 minutes . The weather was fairly poor , cold , wet and humid in the campervan . Something strange happened to the developed film , it looks like air bubbles were on the film , however a roll of Ilford HP5 was developed in the same tank at the same time and came out perfect .
