Hope you have a lovely time. I saw that picture you said was to amuse between courses - and immediately wondered if it was an amuse bouche? Perhaps it isn't edible. Ha!

Hope you have a lovely time. I saw that picture you said was to amuse between courses - and immediately wondered if it was an amuse bouche? Perhaps it isn't edible. Ha! That was when were were in Austria in March this year, they (photos) had been sitting on the laptop for five months, though the bunnyegg may have made it to FB.
Nothing edible was photographed, I actually find taking pictures of what I am about to eat borderline offensive unless it is funny or slightly rude. I am quite glad that the Instagram everyone must take pictures of their food as it arrives phase has largely passed, the iconic 80's cigarette stubbed out in the remains of a fryup image was much more to my liking.

Tricky one. I suppose one could argue that anything taken using close focus or long telephoto lens is aimed at showing detail that would not be immediately evident to the eye without aid. The latter would include isolating a detail on, a building say, using a zoom lens. Pixel peeping is another aspect and I am sure that I posted the pictures below on the APForum site within a similar theme. Pixel peeping into a picture - done to assess focus - but then lost when the whole is shown. It isn't very detailed but it is the only picture that I have used the keyword "detail" to describe and that only in Flickr. Skeletal tree stump - low water due to lack of rain BV9R2497.jpg by Pete, on Flickr
