An unexpected hit on a search for "bean" - thinking of runner beans after Kates sweet pea thought. The tinsel decorations are spirally arranged and it is in a sort of half-spiral staircase. Lower half of a 'Jack and the Beanstalk' decoration at Chirk. DSCF3788.jpg by Pete, on Flickr Edit: on reflection you might as well see the upper half DSCF3799.jpg by Pete, on Flickr

I do like the first one. As it happens I have just come in from our greenhouse, we too have cucumbers, did I think to take any photos of the tendrils? NO.
Most of the produce in the garden has been below par this year, with the exception of gooseberries and the cucumbers which have both had a bumper year.
How are your cucumbers this year?

I'm not the gardener. The cucumbers have done fairly well. The allotment has not needed its customary watering for a while and the bean machine is in full production. I'm hoping the onions don't rot because they look a very good size and nothing beats a home grown onion. Everything else seems to be thriving. No gooseberries though, but there is only one bush, in a terrible position under an oak tree. I'm the only one who likes them so no real priority there. Funny think I have noticed about the posts just made. I though the sweet pea pic looked a bit dark so I lightened it and republished on Flickr but, even though the BBC passes the link the picture on here hasn't changed (or hadn't changed at the time of writing). This site must be caching content and not be "live" with respect to embedded links. Of course, now I have typed this message the site will probably show the updated Flickr image.
