I have just done the Kindle thing and am a few pages into a FREE book 📖 I say free but it costs me about eight quid a month to enable me to get the books 📚 for nothing! So my ‘free’ book is titled One Day With You by Sari Low I would have put a photo of the cover but it’s proved difficult so tough 😃😃👍

One of the carers here just bought me in a copy of Lee Child’s the Killing Floor. I’m on an economy drive so instead of paying for books on Kindle I have been reading Free Kindle books 📚 but you can’t beat a good mainstream bestseller from John Grisham or Lee Child’s . The free kindle books are great but often not worth it at free , I’ve lost many hours reading crap free books before giving up I've got quite a few Lee Child / David Baldacci books lined up to read, when I finish them I can easily swap then free of charge at one of several local phone boxes/book exchanges.

Just finished The Detective by Ajay Chowdhury
A lovely piece of corporate and political intrigue with artificial intelligence thrown into the pot. His 'caricature' of the H8me Se£&etary is brilliantly translated to the same in his story. PP perfect!
Not to everyone's taste, but I thoroughly enjoyed his first two novels.

The label on a jar of 'cook in' Madras curry. A truly great work of fiction...serves 4...hot...

I decided it was time to revisit Gormenghast (the trilogy). I may be some time.

Currently rereading The Use of Weapons - Iain M. Banks. Makes a lot more sense now that human society has to some extent caught up. Waiting for the inspiration is a not quite re-read of Herman Hesse's - Steppenwolf. Not quite because it is a more modern translation. The new translator argues that while german language usage has altered little since the book was written, English usage has so the original english translation sits oddly on our ears. It certainly sat oddly on my 1970's ears.

Jeffery Archer Turn A Blind Eye I’m 112 pages in and not liking it one bit but because Archer is such a prolific writer and I have never read anything by him before I think I will see it through. I just counted 43 previous books written by him so maybe it’s just my frame of mind at the minute after all he has sold 320 million books so he is quite good at it.
